Obituary For Lawrence "Larry" Bamonte
Lawrence (Larry) D. Bamonte passed away Friday, October 18, 2024, in the comfort of his home in Arrey, NM. He was born in Douglas, AZ on October 10, 1955, to Francesco and Leticia Bamonte. Larry was 2nd in a family of 5. He has 3 brothers Tony (Sally) Bamonte of Scottsdale, AZ, Michael (deceased), Edward (Lydia) Bamonte of Arrey, NM and a sister, Rosana Bamonte (Nicole) of Albuquerque, NM.
Larry was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He was stationed in Germany as a Tank Operator in the 1st Armored Division. He was very proud of his service. After the Army, he moved to Tucson, AZ where he would spend 23 years as a landscaper and construction worker. As his parents got older, they moved to New Mexico to be closer to family. Larry followed and made Arrey, NM his home for the past 20 + years.
Larry loved being outside working in the yard, planting and tending to all the plants, trees, and shrubs. He was gifted with an amazing "Green Thumb". Everything he planted and cared for thrived. Larry also enjoyed hanging out with Ed's dog, Lila. He loved her and she loved him right back. Every morning you could hear them having their own conversation with Lila howling her response to all the treats he gave her.
Larry was a quiet man. He kept to himself and seemed to be content. He loved his nieces and nephews, even if they would make him mad occasionally. There wouldn't be a birthday that "Uncle Larry" wouldn't slip a $10 or a $20 bill to them. He will forever be missed by his loving family.
Larry was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles where he made lots of friends. He was also very attentive to the roses at New Creation Ministries. He loved helping Josefina take care of them. The entire Arrey community will miss him.
He is survived by his brothers - Tony (Sally), Edward (Lydia) and his sister, Rosana (Nicolle); his nieces - Ashley Bamonte, Taylor Kiplinger, Danielle Vich, and Cierra Bamonte; his nephews - Isaac Bamonte (Courtney), and Anthony Bamonte; grandnieces - Jackie English, Camila Bamonte, Ava, Charlotte, and TJ Kiplinger; and grandnephew, Daxton Bamonte. He was preceded in death by his parents, Francesco and Leticia Bamonte; and his brother, Michael Bamonte.
As per Larry's wishes, cremation has taken place, and no additional services will be scheduled. His ashes will be spread in the beautiful Chiricahua mountains and Cave Creek where his brother Michael's ashes were spread as well.
We would like to thank everyone for their prayers and for sharing their memories of Larry with us. He was one of a kind and he will be missed. A special thank you to New Creation Ministries, Alex Varble, and to Rebecca at Kirikos Family Funeral Home.
