Mary Catherine Bible, age 68, was called into the presence of the Lord at 8:52 p.m. on Friday, September 5, 2025, at Mercy Health - St. Rita's Medical Center with the love of her family by her side.
Mary was born on October 12, 1956, in Lima, OH, to the late Richard and Mary C. (Caprella) Hardesty. On July 10, 1976, she married the love of her life, William "Bill" Bible.
Mary was a 1974 graduate of Lima Central Catholic High School. She worked as a receptionist for Orthodontic Associates for several years. Mary was an exceptional cook and enjoyed catering different events around the Lima area. She was an avid reader and enjoyed sewing. Mary was especially known for her infectious laugh and her love for spending time with her family and friends.
She is survived by her beloved husband of 49 years, Bill Bible of Lima; daughters, Alicia (Nathan) Kern of Lima, and Michelle (Matthew) Hussey of Galena; grandchildren, Kylin, Payton, and Ashlynn Kern, and Conor and Gwen Hussey; brothers, Richard (Diann) Hardesty of Toledo, John (Erin) Hardesty of Lima; sisters-in-law, Debbie Williams of TN, Linda Evans of Lima; and brothers-in-law, Dennis (Marilyn) Bible of Avon Lake, and Pastor Ted (Jean) Bible of Lima.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by a brother, Mike Williams; in-laws, Ralph & Mary Lou (Oehlhof) Bible; and brother-in-law, Dan Evans.
Funeral services celebrating Mary's life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 13, 2025, at St. Mark's Methodist Church, 1110 N. Metcalf St, Lima, OH 45801. Pastor Ted Bible will officiate the service.
The family will receive friends from 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, September 12, 2025, at CHILES - LAMAN FUNERAL AND CREMATION SERVICES, SHAWNEE CHAPEL, and from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 13th, before the service at the church.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, Breakthrough Type 1 Diabetes (Formerly JDRF), or the American Alzheimer's Association.
