Mary Kathryn Binder

Mary Kathryn Binder (née Schuman), age 82, of Parkville, MD, entered into the presence of her Savior on August 21, 2025. Mary Kay was born on July 3, 1943, in Duryea, PA as the only child and cherished daughter of Frank Edward Schuman and Anita Mullin Schuman, with whom she is now reunited in heaven. Mary Kay was a faithful servant of the Lord, and is survived by her devoted husband, Joseph P. Binder, her adoring children, Kurtis J. Binder (Christine), Todd E. Binder, (Maura), Heidi A. Kelly (Bryan), Katie M. Skelton (Daniel), and her beloved grandchildren, Allie and Owen Binder, Blythe, Sadie, and Hayden Binder, Jacob, Daniel, Joshua, Caleb, and Eli Kelly, Bailee, Dylan, Declan, and Remikate Skelton.

Mary Kay's favorite pastime was helping guide her 14 grandchildren, having a unique impact of each one of them. She loved trips with them to Weber's Farm, shopping and lunches with them, celebrating birthdays, watching them play sports and attending school performances. She shared a special bond with each one and her love and affection will never be forgotten.

Mary Kay was a gifted musician and it was a huge part of her life. Playing the piano and organ, teaching music to children, attending Broadway shows and musicals were some of her favorite hobbies. She enjoyed traveling with family and friends, especially trips back home to Duryea, PA and Ocean City, MD. Her most memorable trips were to Ireland, Germany, and Rome.

Mary Kay was well known and loved at St. Isaac Jogues Catholic Church, where she served as the organist for over 50 years. She made a lasting impact on the community by playing weekly masses, weddings and many other church services and will be greatly missed.

Mary Kay was a woman of simple tastes and high standards, and she will be remembered for her dedication to her family and faith, candor, and strength. Her family is grateful for the countless joyful memories she created for them. Her legacy of sacrifice and profound love remains influential in their hearts.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, August 26th from 4:00-7:00 p.m. for visitation at Ruck Funeral Home, 1050 York Rd., Towson, MD. The Mass and celebration of Mary Kay's life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, August 27th at St. Isaac Jogues Catholic Church, 9215 Old Harford Rd, Parkville, MD.
