Mary Catherine Blake

Mary Catherine Blake passed away on January 18, 2026, at the age of 74, in Bloomington, Indiana. She was born on October 19, 1951, to John Fields and Mildred Fields Hatley in Bloomington.
A mother, grandmother, sister, and wife, Mary's capacity for love knew no bounds. She will be dearly missed.
She is survived by her sons, Steve (Heather) Blake, Brian Blake, and Kevin (Vicki) Blake; her grandchildren, Levi Blake, Jaden Blake, Kinsey Blake, Shania Blake, Braydon Blake, Jaylin Ruckman, Kameron Blake, Konner Blake, and Zi-Anna Conner; her great-grandchildren Kynley Blake and Kinser Blake; her sister Sherri (Bob) Schurtter, and brother Randy Fields. Mary was predeceased by her granddaughter Micah Blake, sister Susan Zerfas, brother-in-law Don Zerfas, and sister-in-law Jenny Fields, and her parents.
Mary was the beloved wife of the late Danny Blake.
For nearly 40 years, Mary's dedication as a bus driver for the Monroe County Community School Corporation (MCCSC) demonstrated her commitment to the countless children she safely transported to and from school. Her warm smile and kind words were a comforting presence for many generations of Bloomington families.
Mary's life was characterized by her unwavering love for her family. Her generosity extended beyond her family; she touched the lives of many in her community with her caring nature and willingness to help others.
Those who knew Mary will remember her for the love she so freely gave and the strength of her character. She leaves behind a legacy of compassion that will continue to inspire those who were fortunate enough to have known her.
