Mary E. Bleck (VanDeurzen), age 69 of Shawano, WI passed away on October 17, 2025. She was born to John and Geraldine (Newton) VanDeurzen on July 16, 1956 in Appleton, WI. After graduating from high school, she worked a number of different jobs in order to make ends meet for her kids, but eventually went on to open her own in-home daycare, where she assisted her community wherever she lived. She met James “Jim” Bleck the true Wisconsin way – at Carol’s bar – and they were married in November of 1995. Together, they combined their families.

Mary was stubborn, but we loved her all the same. She enjoyed putting together puzzles, knitting, and sewing. You could often find Mary out at the casino, practicing her love of gambling. She was a true lover of the outdoors as well, spending much of her time fishing and developing her proclivity for pyrotechnics.

Mary is survived by her husband, Jim; her children, Sheila, Dale (Vicki), Nichole (Steven), and Justin; many grandchildren, several siblings, nieces, nephews, and other extended relatives.

Mary is preceded in death by her sons, Joe and Jimmy; her granddaughter, Jordin; several siblings, her parents, and many extended relatives.

Mary will be laid to rest privately at Highland Memorial Park in Appleton, WI.
