Mary Gladys Brais, 97, of Clay, passed away October 1, 2025. Mary was born in Massena, New York on June 29, 1928 to the late Harry and Janey Tredo.
Mary had a strong faith as one of Jehovah's Witnesses and was a beloved member of the North Syracuse congregation. She was everyone's "grandmother".
She devoted herself to her husband and her family, doing everything from bookkeeping, to childcare. She became a great cook over the 71 years she was married. She had many self-taught talents such as reupholstering furniture. Some of her favorite things were flowers, garage sales, donuts, and a little glass of port (to warm her up.) She was a great "mom".
She was predeceased by her husband, Norman Brais; son, Gerald Brais. She is survived by her two daughters, Deborah (Donald) Kuntz, Cynthia Gibbs; a son, Rick Brais; daughter-in-law, Kendra Brais; grandchildren, Nicholas (Amy), Michael, Matthew, Danielle (Jamie), and Kayla (Joseph); great-grandchildren, Penelope and Jacob.
