Mary Teresa "Sullivan" Burriss

Mary Teresa (Sullivan) Burriss, 90, of South Charleston departed this life Tuesday, August 19, 2025 at the Hubbard Hospice House.

She was born November 10, 1934 in South Charleston, WV, a daughter of the late William Joseph and Teresa (Corkrean) Sullivan. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Conrad "CB" Burriss; son, Pat Burriss; sister, Bernice Sullivan; brothers, Paul, Harold and Bob Sullivan, and grandson Ryan Burriss.

Mary lived her entire life in South Charleston. She was a devoted mom, volunteering at her children's schools in various roles and baking untold thousands of cookies for their lunches. Mary was a charter member of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church and active in St Anne's Guild. She also volunteered at Ronald McDonald House.

Those left to cherish her memories include her loving children, Joe Burriss (Jane), Tim Burriss (Susan) and Steve Burriss (Tina); eight grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; daughter-in-law, Lesley Burriss as well as a host of other family and friends.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, October 25, 2025, at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church with Father Paul J. Wharton and Father John Finnell officiating. Fiends and family will gather for fellowship beginning at 10:00 prior to mass and all are invited to a luncheon at Blessed Sacrament following mass. Mary will be laid to rest in Mt. Olivet Catholic Cemetery.
