Mary Virginia Cacioppo, originally of Brooklyn, NY and most recently of Fort Lauderdale, FL, passed away peacefully on August 31, 2025 at the age of 85.

She is survived by her former husband, Robert Tomasulo, and her sister, Virginia Corallo. She was the loving mother of her two children, Lisa Capasso and her husband Jerry, and Robert Tomasulo and his wife Denise. Mary was the cherished grandmother of Marco Capasso and his girlfriend Raven, Lorenzo Capasso, Juliana Capasso, Michael Tomasulo, Anthony Crisafi and Jessica Ryan, Robert Santa and his wife Millie.

She was also the beloved aunt of Anthony Corallo and his wife Mary, Donna Corallo and Brenda Bradley, Jason Cacioppo, and Geneva Cacioppo, and leaves behind many dear friends in New York, Massachusetts, and Florida.

Mary was predeceased by her parents, Francesco and Giulia Cacioppo of Brooklyn, NY, and her younger brother, Anthony Cacioppo, formerly of Manhattan.

Mary enjoyed a long and varied career. She worked for many years as a Controller for several modeling agencies, including Elite, Spectrum, and Pauline's. An entrepreneur at heart, she also owned and operated several small businesses over the years- including a stationery company (The Paper Caper), a cake-making business (Sweetie Pie), and a dry cleaning service (Carousel). She held many other roles throughout her life such as a real estate agent, notary public, insurance policy typist, car service driver and dispatcher, CCD teacher, and more- all of which she pursued with joy and dedication.

In her spare time, Mary loved playing Mah Jong and cards, solving puzzles, enjoying music and books, cooking, taking daily walks and drives in Florida, and spending time with pets. But above all, her greatest joy came from being with her grandchildren, with whom she shared an unbreakable bond.

Visitation and funeral services will be held on September 20th at 10:00 AM at the Newton Cemetery Chapel in Newton.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Mary's memory to the Animal Humane Society.
