Mary Brown Caples

Mrs. Mary Brown Caples, age 80, went to her Heavenly Home on April 18 while at McLeod RMC, with her loving family by her side.

Funeral services will be held Sunday at 3:00 at Mel's Chapel Church. Rev. Ann Chavis, Rev. Tommy Brown, Rev. Gabriel Smith and Rev. Ray Taylor will officiate. Burial will be in Mel's Chapel Church Cemetery directed by Norton Funeral Home, Bishopville. A visitation will be Saturday 5-7 pm at the funeral home.

Mrs. Caples was born in Darlington a daughter of the late Elisha Walter Brown and Lila Bell Tidwell Brown. She was a member of Mel's Chapel Church. She loved the Lord and was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She was the back bone of the family and would help anyone who needed help.

Surviving are two daughters, Gloria (Robert) Atkinson, Sr. Bishopville and Patricia Caples, Bishopville; one son, Danny Ray (Kay) Caples, Bishopville; one sister, Diane (Bennie) Atkinson, Bishopville; one brother, Jimmy Brown, Aynor; 8 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; 3 great great grandchildren.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Jack Douglas Caples; 3 brothers and six sisters.
