Mary Meehan Carnevale, age 66, of Londonderry, NH a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and educator died on October 24, 2025 at her Londonderry home surrounded by her loving family and friends. She is survived by her husband James T. Carnevale and their three children.
Born October 3, 1959, in Lowell, she was the daughter of the late Martin T. Meehan and Alice (Britton) Meehan.
Mary was diagnosed with Glioblastoma in March 2025.
"Mary's life was guided by faith, hope and love. As tumor progression took away everything she had, it could not take who she was. Mary's prayers increasingly focused on peace for her loved ones, neighbors, friends, faithful clergy and all of her family. In praying peace for those she loved, Mary was in turn blessed with more than 200 days of peace." her husband, James Carnevale, said.
Mary was devoted to her family and to the students she had the pleasure of teaching during her years as an educator. Her career in education included teaching appointments at the Immaculate Conception School and St. Patrick's School, both in Lowell, and at the Academy of Notre Dame in Tyngsboro.
Mary earned a Master's degree in education in Curriculum and Instruction, cum laude, from UMass Lowell and held a B.S. from the University of Lowell in Law and Justice, with a Minor in Psychology. She also was a certified paralegal.
Throughout her life, Mary demonstrated a commitment to education and to the well-being of her students. She was a valued member of professional organizations, including groups affiliated with the Archdiocese of Boston and the New England Association of Schools and Colleges. She was a member of the Phi Lambda Theta honor society.
Mary often said her proudest professional achievement was being credited by her former students for helping them develop a lifetime love of learning and serving as their north star through their formative years.
Loyal to her friends and generous with her time for those in need, Mary was active in the Archdiocese of Boston's Clergy Sexual Abuse Survivor Community.
Mary loved the beach, hiking, fine dining and family outings. She loved being involved in holiday celebrations and activities with her children and grandchildren.
Mary is survived by her three children, Alexander Carnevale, Michael Carnevale and his wife Jillian and their son Michael Ryan Carnevale, Jr., and Evan Carnevale and his wife Yuliana and their sons Matthias and Benjamin Carnevale.
She also leaves her sister Colleen and her husband John Turco, her sister Kathleen Meehan-Baily and her husband William, her brother Martin Meehan and his wife Jennifer, her brother Mark Meehan and his wife Nanci, her sister Maureen Meehan, her brother Paul Meehan and his wife Karen, her brother-in-law Ralph Carnevale, her brother-in-law Robert Carnevale and his wife Cheryl, her sister-in-law Carol Palmer and her husband Tom and many nieces and nephews including her godchildren Amanda Baily and Sarah Meehan.
Mary was predeceased by her sister-in-law Suzane Carnevale, her sister-in-law Elaine Carnevale, her beloved niece Nikole Carnevale, and her beloved nephews Paul Patrick Meehan, Jr., and Matthew Turco.
"Nonna" will be missed by her three grandchildren Matthias Carnevale, Michael Ryan Carnevale, Jr. and Benjamin Carnevale.
The family invites guests to attend Mary's visitation on Wednesday October 29, 2025 from 10:00 am to 11:00 am., at St. Matthew's Church, 2 Searles Road Windham, NH. Yesterday

Mary and I met during graduate school at U Mass/Lowell. She was kind, positive, and her sense of humor was infectious. The program was arduous, but Mary made it so much fun. We always found something to laugh about. We had lost touch when I moved to Florida, but reconnected on Facebook. Mary will be missed.
