MARY CARRETHERS Obituary
In the early morning of Saturday, January 27th, 2024, Mary Lou Carrethers peacefully passed at the Wyoming Medical Center in Casper, Wyoming, surrounded by loved ones at seventy-eight years old.
Mary was the biological daughter of Earl and Georgia Harris and the adoptive daughter of Lawrence F. "Larry" and Lela "Maxine" (Grove) Olsen. She was born Friday, August 24th, 1945 in Cheyenne, Wyoming.
She served in the United States Navy and was a helicopter mechanic while she was in the service.
Her memory lives on through her husband, Vinson E. Carrethers, and her large family. She will be remembered as a loving mother to her children, Malik Carrethers, Yusef B. Carrethers, Raven L. Petersen, and Gabriel Carrethers; as a selfless grandmother to her grandchildren, Robin Carrethers, Trinity Z. Paintin, Isabell M. Paintin, and Randon J. Paintin; and an enthusiastic great grandmother to Elara G. Ferguson. Mary was a sister to eight siblings, Will D. Harris, Audrey B. Bryan, James T. Harris, Tina Harris, Evelyn M. South, Genevieve F. Hernandez, and Micheal Olsen.
The coloring pictures she diligently colored for countless friends and family will be missed, along with her loving spirit, beautiful laugh, and priceless smile.
The funeral service will be held at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints (LDS/Mormon Church) in Douglas, Wyoming, on Wednesday, February 14th, 2024, at 2:00 P.M. Inurnment will be in the Douglas Park Cemetery.
The Gorman Funeral Homes-Converse Chapel of Douglas, Wyoming is in charge of the arrangements.
