Vinson Edgar Carrethers

On Tuesday, September 10th, 2024 at 2:58 A.M., Vinson Edger Carrethers peacefully passed at the Hospice Home in Casper, Wyoming, surrounded by loved ones at eighty-two years old.
Vinson was born on Tuesday, August 25th, 1942, in Douglas, Wyoming, and was the only son of Franklin Monroe and Kathryn Mae (Merritt) Carrethers. He served twenty years in the United States Air Force and United States Army.
His memory lives on through the family he dedicated his life to. He will be remembered as a selfless father to Malik J. Carrethers, Yusef B. Carrethers, Raven L. Petersen, and Gabriel Carrethers; as a dedicated grandfather to Robin C. Carrethers, Trinity (Zayne) Paintin, Randon J. Paintin, and Isabell M. Paintin; and an enthusiastic great-grandfather to Elara G. Ferguson.
His inspiring intelligence and pure heart will be dearly missed. He dedicated his life to serving his country, family, and friends.
The funeral service will be held at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (LDS/Mormon Church) in Douglas, Wyoming, on Tuesday, September 17th, 2024 at 2:00 P.M. Inurnment will be in the Douglas Park Cemetery so he can rest beside his wife's (Mary Lou Carrethers') final resting place.
In lieu of flowers, memorials to Wounded Warrior Project, 1 South Nevada Avenue, Suite 205, Colorado Springs, Colorado 80903 would be appreciated by the family.
