Mary Margaret Caulfield

CAULFIELD- Mary Margaret passed on Saturday March 26, 2022, at Waterview Hills Rehab & Healthcare in Purdy's, NY. She was 89 years old.
Mary resided in Oakdale, NY for 35 years. After Oakdale, she spent her later years in Middletown & Carmel NY.
The daughter of the late Patrick and Anna Smith, Mary was born on October 19, 1932, in Brooklyn, NY. On September 11,1954, Mary married John T. Caulfield in St. Teresa of Avila Church in Brooklyn, NY. Mary was a devoted Wife & Mother and a friend to all she knew. Everyone was welcome in her home, and she loved her Irish heritage. Her greatest joy in life was her family and her faith.
Mary was predeceased by her husband of 51 years, John Thomas Caulfield.
Mary is survived by her seven children & their spouses, Mary Eicher (Ron) of Kansas City, MO., Patricia Caulfield (Dennis Dunlavey) of Kensington MD., Thomas Caulfield (Leighanne) of Johns Creek GA., Catherine Sarazen (David) of Mission Hills KS., John Caulfield (Michelle) of Garden City NY., Patrick Caulfield (Patti) of Carmel NY. and Martin Caulfield (Theresa) of Spring Lake NJ. She was also the loving Grandmother of fifteen.
Two sisters, Anne McGowan and Kathleen Smith also survive her: as well as two sisters-in-law, Mary Blaney & Theresa Savage and many nieces and nephews. She was recently predeceased by her sister-in-law Bernadette Wedelstaedt.
Mary's family would like to thank the staff and doctors at the Waterview Hills Rehab & Healthcare in Purdys NY., who were all instrumental in Mary's care.
A wake will be held on Thursday March 31, at Joseph J. Smith Funeral Home, Mahopac, NY from 4-8 PM.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, April 1, at Private burial services will follow at St. Joseph's Cemetery, Middletown, NY.
