Mary Elizabeth Cole, 80, was called to her heavenly home on October 7, 2025, passing away peacefully surrounded by the love of her family. She was born in Ellsworth, Kansas, on Friday, October 13, 1944, to Patrick and Frances Nash. On June 11, 1966, she married the love of her life, William "Bill" Noonan Cole II-whom she affectionately called "Billy." Together, they built a beautiful life over 51 years of marriage, raising four children and enduring both the challenges of Bill's service in the U.S. Army during Vietnam and the many moves required by his career. From Kansas City, Kansas to Northville, Michigan, and eventually settling in Cypress, Texas, Mary remained the heart of their home. A founding parishioner and devoted member of Christ the Redeemer Catholic Church, her greatest joy and steadfast priority was always her family. She was deeply committed to their happiness and unity, nurturing a bond that continues to hold strong.
Mary's life was marked by love, compassion, and unwavering faith in God. Her passing leaves a profound void in the hearts of her family, friends, and all whose lives she touched. We ask you to remember her not for how her life ended, but for how she lived-with an infectious smile, heartfelt laughter, and a deep commitment to spreading kindness and faith. Mary's lasting impact is seen in the love she shared and the joy she brought to everyone fortunate enough to know her.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents, Patrick and Frances Nash. She is survived by her loving family, including her sister and brother-in-law, Patsy and Joe McGreevy; her sister Nancy (Ann Sue) Smalling; her brother John and his wife Connie Nash; brother-in-law Johnny Cole; sister-in-law Barbara and Randy Reed; her son's fiancés, Christopher Cole and Sheri Landrum; daughters and sons-in-law Cheryl and Terry Schaeffer, Carrie and Heath Byrd, and Cathy and James Covey; grandchildren Candice, Sarah, and Matt; Preston, Taylor, and Allie; Shawn and Sarah; Zachery; Isabel, Wyatt, and Tyler; Molly, Adelynn, and Cole; and great-grandchildren Wesley, Brody, Elly Rose, and Archy.
Mary was a devoted presence in the lives of her family, friends, and neighbors, always ready to offer support and kindness. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Her family takes comfort in knowing she is now walking with her Lord and Savior, joyfully reunited with her husband Billy, her parents, mother- and father-in-law, and other loved ones who have gone before her. Though Mary's physical presence is no longer with us, her loving spirit and compassionate heart will continue to inspire and uplift those she touched. May her memory be a lasting blessing, and may we honor her legacy by carrying forward her love and kindness in all we do.
