Mary Ann "Bateman" Colquitt (Portwood), 83, of Macon, Georgia, passed away peacefully on April 23, 2025. She was born on August 5, 1941, in Lexington, Georgia.
A graduate of Oglethorpe County High School, Class of 1959, Mary Ann later settled in Macon, where she raised her beloved sons and worked as a Senior Insurance Coordinator at Charter Medical Corporation.
Mary Ann was a devoted and accomplished bridge player. A longtime member of the Macon Duplicate Bridge Club, she enjoyed countless evenings at the table with friends and participated in numerous ACBL tournaments. Her enthusiasm for the game reflected her sharp intellect and love of friendly competition. She is survived by her sons Robby Colquitt (Dianne) of Macon, Georgia, and Danny Colquitt (Diane) of Mechanicsville, Virginia; her brother Ralph Portwood; six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and several cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Mary Ann was preceded in death by her son Brian Colquitt; her grandson Brad Colquitt; and family members R.W. Colquitt, Fred Portwood, Bill Portwood, Joel Portwood, Carlisse Loggans, and Gil Bateman.
A private memorial and interment will be held at a later date.
