Mary Athleen Davis, known for her bright smile and generous spirit, died on November 30, 2025, at age 87 in Oroville, California, one day after suffering a stroke.

Born Mary Stockman in 1938 in Boonville, Missouri, Mary grew up in Sacramento, California, where she graduated from St. Francis High School. She married Clifford Davis in 1957, and together they raised three sons. Mary worked for Equitable Life Insurance in Sacramento for many years, all while managing the busy household of a family of five.

She enjoyed water skiing into her 60s and remained active in bowling, golf, and bunco throughout her life. Above all, she cherished time spent with her family and friends, who will always remember the strength of her devotion to the people she loved.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents Wilfred and Athleen; her husband Cliff; siblings Georgia Campbell and Donald Stockman; and her son, James Davis. She is survived by her sister, Martha Bryant (DeWayne) of Rancho Murieta, CA; her sons Bill (Carinne) of Lincoln, CA, and John of Salt Lake City, UT; her daughter-in-law, Patricia of Greenwood, Indiana; and her three granddaughters, Alison Baritot (Jacques), Rachel, and Kelly. She is also survived by two great-granddaughters, Ava and Lucy.

In Oroville, Mary found joy and companionship among a close group of friends. The Davis family extends heartfelt thanks to her Oroville community for their kindness, support, and friendship.

A Funeral Mass for Mary will be held on December 15, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Charles Borromeo in Sacramento. Interment to follow at St. Mary's Cemetery.
