It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Mary Lou Holland DeBarge, 84, of Hathaway, LA.
Mrs. Mary was born on August 22, 1940, in Hayes, LA, to Eunice Holland and Anna Mae Ardoin Holland. In 1959, Mary married the love of her life and soon after he joined the United States Air Force. Being from the little community of Hayes, she packed up and began her lifelong journey with her husband John, while he served the country. Mary lived her life with pride, raising her children being a homemaker while John defended his country. She was a strong and warm-hearted mother and wife and always cherished her family. If you knew her, you know she was the most generous and selfless person who loved everyone she ever met. We will always cherish our memories of her and will never forget the legacy she leaves behind.
Left to honor her legacy are her beloved husband of 65 years, John DeBarge, Jr.; daughters, Lisa (Donald) Richard and Tammy (Michael) Duplechin; son, Tommy (Amanda) DeBarge; sister, Betty Jane; brothers, Floyd Holland and Morris Holland; grandchildren, Hannah, Tanner, Jodie, Skylynn and Jeffery; great grandchildren, Kenlee, Kierstin, Dakota, Amiyah, and Marcus Paul; and a host of extended family and friends.
