Mary Eileen passed away October 27, 2025 at the age of 83. She was the only daughter of John Gallagher and Hazel Dwyer and lived most of her life in Price Hill. After her education at Seton and Mt. St. Joseph, she worked at WKRC and the Cincinnati Post Newspaper where she made full use of her many talents as a writer and organizer. Her next field of activity was the archdiocesan Mission Office were she successfully organized many church events and where she would meet her future husband, Jack. They settled in Lower Price Hill and from there they fought many a battle to save the neighborhood from aggressive polluters including MSD which was trying to operate the only publicly owned incinerator of Hazardous Waste. Eileen was the leader of the opposing field with her SIN (Stop Incinerator Now) committee. The county had to close and dismantle the facility. Among other achievements, she succeeded in having a full-fledged Congressional hearing in the Lower Price Hill neighborhood to stop other polluters. She was a generous volunteer of the two churches staffed by the Comboni Missionaries, St. Michael in LPH and St. Pius in South Cumminsville, managing their bi-weekly multi-hall bingo. Eileen was a superb hostess and loved collecting china and glassware. She will be missed by her many friends who have gone before her and her many relatives. Visitation will take place at Bayley Senior Care 990 Bayley Drive where Jack and Eileen have resided since 2024 on Tuesday November 4, 2025 from 930am until the Mass of Christian burial at 1030am. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Comboni Missionaries 1318 Nagel Rd. Cincinnati, Ohio 45255
