Mary Alice Delcambre Hebert White passed away peacefully at The Claiborne at Shoe Creek on Wednesday, March 29, 2023, at the age of 84. She was a retired paralegal; resident of Baton Rouge, former resident of Port Allen, and a native of Henderson, LA. Visitation will be held at St. Jean Vianney Church, 16166 S. Harrells Ferry Rd. Baton Rouge, LA 70816 on Monday, April 3, 2023, from 9:30am until Mass of Christian Burial at 11am, celebrated by Father Tom Ranzino. Interment will follow at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church Cemetery, Brusly, LA. Mary is survived by her husband of 29 years, Robert Lee White; children, Mark Hebert and wife Terry, Karen Lessard and husband Eric, Mel Hebert and wife Susan, Pamela White, Matthew Hebert, and Eric White and wife Christine; grandchildren, Christina Jones and husband Corey, Sharon Byerly and husband Joe, Amelia Conard and husband Josh, Jordyn Hebert, Benjamin Hebert and wife Jacklyn, Michael Hebert, Rachel Lessard, Natalie White, Ryan White, Noah Hebert, and Brody White; great grandchildren, Aeryn, Clara, Luke and Emma Jones and Jane Byerly; brothers, Rufus Amy, Jr. and wife JoeAnne, and Sosthene Amy and wife Beverly; and numerous nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by her son, Michael Bruce Hebert; daughter-in-law, Christen Hull Hebert; father, Wasey Delcambre; mother, Marie Wiltz; stepfather, Rufus Amy, Sr.; and sister, Virgil Hebert. 1974 was the year she almost single-handedly kept the Boy Scout Program in West Baton Rouge Parish and received The Award of Merit from the Boy Scouts. She volunteered in numerous Women's Retreats and Youth Retreats through her church. Mary was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church for 30 years and then St. Jean Vianney Church for 30 years. She was a religion teacher in the CCD program at Holy Family Catholic Church. Mary was a poet and writer who wrote children's stories. She was Co-founder of the LA Chapter of the National Marfan Foundation and a Notary since 1969. Memorial donations may be made to Shriners Children's Shreveport, 3100 Samford Ave, Shreveport, LA 71103 or National Marfan Foundation, 22 Manhasset Ave, Fort Washington, New York 11050.
