Mary Josephine Devane

Mary Josephine Devane, 99, a cherished aunt, peacefully passed away Thursday morning December 19, 2024 in Framingham. She was born March 19, 1925 in West Newton where she spent most of her life.
She was the beloved daughter of the late Mark and Bridget (O'Shea) Devane. She was the devoted sister of the late Reverend John F. Devane S.J. and the late Mark Devane. She is survived by her sister-in-law Barbara Devane.
Mary wasn't just an Aunt or "Mayme", she was a second mother who enriched her nephews' lives and strongly believed in "eating dessert first". Her natural ability to connect to people developed into a profound influence on her extended family and friends who will miss her unconditional love and wisdom.
She was the dear aunt of Mark and Janet Devane of Nashua NH, Gary Devane of Natick, MA and Glen and Lisa Devane of Upton, MA. She was grand aunt to Melissa Devane and her husband Patrick Mallin, Matthew Devane and his wife Danielle, Eric Mueller, Katelyn Tekavec and her husband Bob, Maren Devane and Aidan Devane. She was great aunt to Sophia, Max, Parker and Finn.
Funeral Mass at Saint Bernard's Church, 1523 Washington Street West Newton at a later date. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery in Waltham at a later date.
