Mary Louise Snider Dewey, age 80, passed away on Sunday, May 18, 2025 in Childress, Texas. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, May 31, 2025 at the Childress First Baptist Church with Kerry Wood officiating.

Mary was born on June 3, 1944 to Linus Ben Snider and Louise (Rule) Snider in Childress. She grew up in Memphis and married Tom Dewey in 1966. After moving several times for his job they settled in Haskell, Texas where they raised their family. She and Tom moved to Childress in the late 90's where she enjoyed being closer to her brothers and cousins and she and Tom ran and worked on their farm together.

She began her banking career in Haskell and continued it after moving to Childress. Mary is still remembered by her former customers and co-workers for her kindness and ready smile. She was a dedicated member of The Order of the Eastern Star and served for many years as the Worthy Matron. She was a talented seamstress, an excellent cook and loved playing board and card games where her sense of humor would shine.

Mary and Tom were married for 58 years, until his death in 2024. She was a faithful Christian, devoted wife and mother and a mighty prayer warrior. She is preceded in death by her parents, Linus and Louise Snider, her sister, Linda Snider Moore and her husband, Tom Dewey.

Mary is survived by her son, Michael Dewey and wife Wanda of Irving; daughter, Lynn Dewey of Childress; son, Tim Dewey and wife Amanda of Childress; brother, LB Snider and wife Peggy of Amarillo; brother, Robert Snider and wife Pat of Memphis and numerous cousins, nephews, nieces and extended family.
