Mary M. Duffey

Mary M. (Dougan) Duffey, 76, of Somerville, passed away on Monday, June 30, 2025 in Emerson Hospital in Concord.
Mary was born in Dorchester, on April 5, 1949, a daughter of the late John and Margaret (MacDonald) Dougan and grew up there graduating from Jeremiah Burke High School
In addition to raising her family, Mary worked for the Archdiocese of Boston in Cambridge for many years prior to her retirement.
She enjoyed spending time with family, going out to eat, crocheting, playing the guitar, playing cards and watching TV
She leaves her son James R. Duffey and his wife Theresa of Shirley; a daughter, Karen M. Duffey, and her companion, Matthew Thebodo of Ayer; her former husband, Richard F. Duffey of Bedford; her grandchildren, Kaylee, Brendan, Jameson, Alexis, and Shamus and several nephews and nieces.
Mary is predeceased by a daughter, Kimberly M. Duffey, who passed away in 2022 and her two brothers John Dougan and James Dougan.
Her funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, July 12 at 10:30 AM in Saint Anthony of Padua Church, 14 Phoenix St., Shirley. A calling hour will be held prior to the Mass form 9 to 10AM in the Anderson Funeral Home, 25 Fitchburg Rd., Ayer.
