Mary Epps Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Lake Ridge Chapel and Memorial Designers from Jan. 25 to Jan. 26, 2022.
The family of Mary Catherine Marsh Epps will host a time of fellowship and remembrance from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM, Wednesday, January 26, 2022, at Lake Ridge Chapel and Memorial Designers. She passed on Friday, January 21, 2022. We invite you to sign her virtual guestbook, download her memorial keepsake folder to your device for printing, and view her Life Tribute, a video of photographs set to her favorite music.

On December 21, 1955, Mary Catherine Marsh Epps was born to Peter A. and Patricia Connelly Marsh in Fort Benning, GA. She married Michael Epps on May 21, 1977, in Borger, TX.

Mary always dreamed of a family and home. Forty-four years of marriage created a deep unity that sustained the best and hardest of times. She was always a mother beginning as the oldest of five siblings in her family. With motherhood her natural disposition, Mary devoted herself to not only her own daughters but all children. She centered her life in the milestones of her daughters' endeavors never missing a recital, riding lesson, or horse show.

Mary was a faithful Christian all her life. Catholic schooling developed into daily Bible devotions and a love of Christian music. Her membership in Daughters of the King strengthened her relationship with God. Learning and reading poured fantasy and magic into Mary's life. She used the power of books while working in the Preston Smith Elementary Library to pass on her storytelling ability to her own daughters and many other children.

Survivors include her husband, Michael Epps; daughters, Stephanie Epps and husband Adam Walker, and Julie O'Neal and husband Justin; grandsons Michael Connor O'Neal and Keegan O'Neal; siblings, Peter Marsh, Eileen Karlin and husband Leo, Ann Stanford and husband Lou, and Michael Marsh and wife Donda; sister-in-law Toni Wallingford and her nieces and nephews. Mary was preceded by her parents, sister-in-law Sabrina Marsh and brother-in-law Ralph Wallingford.
