It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of our beautiful beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend. Mary Helen Felan, who passed away peacefully on July 6, 2025, in Little River, South Carolina, surrounded by her loving children and their spouses.
Born in San Antonio, Texas, Mary lived a life full of love, strength, and deep devotion to her family. She was the proud mother of Roxanne M Felan (spouse: Rhonda), John Felan (spouse: Jessica), and Christine Macias (spouse: Miguel Macias).
She was a proud and devoted grandmother to eleven grandchildren:
Mason, Brian and Ethan Felan, SSgt. Tristian Felan, Gabryela and Victoria Felan, John and Christopher Macias-Felan, Pepper and Ryan Wingerd-Felan, and Logan Levesque.
She was also an amazing loving great-grandmother to:
Christian, Isela, and Lily Felan.
Mary was preceded in death by her beloved husband, John R. Felan, and her parents, Elpidia and Juan T. Sanchez. She is survived by her three children, all of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, along with her two sisters and two brothers..
Mary's happiest moments were spent surrounded by family, laughing around the table, dancing to a good cumbia, turning up the volume to any George Strait song, cheering for her San Antonio Spurs, soaking up the sun during summer family beach trips and especially visits to North Carolina. She loved gardening, crafting, fishing, and turning every family event into a wonderful memory.
Her legacy lives on through the lessons she passed down: love your family fiercely, work hard, and never stop smiling through the storms. Her joy, strength, and love will never be forgotten.

Our deepest condolences to Roxanne, John, Christine and all of the family. Our Comadre always had a smile and was a wonderful person. She and I worked at Edgewood ISD for several years. We enjoyed our lunch breaks filled with much laughter. Mary Helen and John were part ifmkkji our wedding party almost 49 years ago. I know she and John are together again reminiscing about the many memories they shared. Now they are both angels watching over their children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. May she rest in peace.
