Mary Elizabeth Williams Fiedler, age 83, of
Macon, Missouri, passed away peacefully on Sunday, October 19, 2025 at the Kansas City Hospice House in Kansas City, MO. Mary was born in Chico, California on November 10, 1941 to Hazel and Willie Williams.
Mary was a graduate of Macon High School in May 1960 and married the love of her life, William (Bill) Fiedler on June 10, 1960.
She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was known for her warmth, resilience, laughter and spunk.
In 1980, Mary started working as a secretary for Elmer Kruel American Family Insurance Agency. She would become an agent with American Family Insurance in 1988 until her retirement in 2002. She loved helping and visiting with people and was a dedicated agent.
Mary loved spending time in her yard and garden of vegetables and flowers. She enjoyed traveling to places near and far. She organized many trips with Diamond Bus Tours, traveling to enjoy places with friends and family members. She loved getting in her "steps" and walking with friends. She was full of energy. Mary enjoyed cooking for her family and had no more cleaned up the breakfast meal and began planning and preparing the lunch and dinner meals. No one ever left her home hungry. She made delicious lasagna!
For 48+ years, bowling was a fun sport for Mary and on most Monday afternoons, you would find her at the Macon Bowl. She bowled on the Monday afternoon league until 2023 and at one time even bowled on a Wednesday night league as well as the Monday afternoon league. Her team traveled around the State of Missouri to attend many years of bowling tournaments.
Mary was a member of the 1st Baptist Church of Macon where she enjoyed serving Wednesday night meals, her Sunday school class and all the socials. She served on the Macon Public Library Board and the Oats Bus Board. She committed many hours of her time to the Macon Senior Citizens Center also. She loved to have dinner with her Red Hat Society friends. She loved the colors, red and purple.
For all the things that Mary enjoyed in her life, she loved her children and family the most. She was completely devoted to them and was beyond proud of them.
Mary is survived by her children Anthony (Tony) and Tammi Fiedler, Pleasant Hill, MO; David and Caren Fiedler, Callao, MO, Daniel and Agnieszka Fiedler, Chicago, IL.; her grandchildren; Jason (Lacey) Fiedler, Benjamin (Michelle) Fiedler, Hillary (Tyler) Kemp, Tyler (Amber) Fiedler, Allison (Matt) Cooley, Hanna and Sara Fiedler; her great-grandchildren, Kinsey, Evie, Josie, Jackson, Lily, Isaac, Grant, Ruby, Julia, Anthony, Aiden, Lia, Easton, Peyton and Paisley.
Mary is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Bill Fiedler (2009), siblings; John Williams, Gene Williams, Vesta Brown and Lewis Williams and one grandson, Trevor Fiedler.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Kansas City Hospice House or Jacksonville Missouri Veterans Cemetery.
Visitation services will be held Thursday, October 23rd from 5pm-7pm at Hutton and McElwain Funeral Home in
Macon, MO.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, October 24th at 11:30am at Hutton and McElwain Funeral Home in Macon with burial following at the Jacksonville Veterans Cemetery.
