Mary Fisher was born on June 16, 1954, to George and Gean (Wilson) Walders in Estherville, Iowa. She grew up on a farm in the Armstrong area and attended Armstrong schools.

Mary began her career at Weightronix assembling and soldering logic boards before being promoted to office staff. Her work afforded her many opportunities to travel across the country. After 29 years, with Weightronix, Mary transitioned to Ag-Chem, now AgCo. Her work there began on the tractor assembly line but eventually led to a leadership position over that same line. This role briefly took her to France where she oversaw and learned about the European manufacturing process. After 19 years, Mary retired from AgCo and from full-time work on January 13, 2023.

In her free time, Mary enjoyed several hobbies such as: fishing, playing cards, camping and relaxing with friends and family. Mary was also an avid bowler and bowled on a league for many years. With the rise of smartphones, she also got into different games and social media. This also allowed her to keep in touch with those close to her, watch her grandkids and great grandkids grow, and much more.

On September 2, 1983, Mary was united in marriage to her soul mate, John Fisher of Estherville. This pair was an incredible match and displayed a love that all should aspire to.

Mary had a beautiful family of three children: Jeremy, Melissa, and Jennifer. Jeremy Duer lives in Chicago, Illinois, the city he loves, Melissa and Eric Erickson also live in Estherville, and Jennifer and Troy Leininger are nearby in Armstrong. From Mary's kids came grandkids: Chase and Brenden from Melissa and Eric, and Angel, Shelby, Wyatt, and Ethyn, from Jennifer and Troy. And from grandkids came great grandkids: Maleri (Shelby Leininger), Maxwell, Lucas, and Lily (Chase and Kaitlin Erickson) and Theodore (Brenden and Karmen Duer).

Mary is preceded in death by her parents, Gean Work and George Walders; stepfather, Orval Work; and sisters, Marlys Cole and Wendy Duitsman.

She leaves behind her surviving brothers and sisters, all her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren and her loving husband.

Mary passed away peacefully on September 30, 2025. She was surrounded by family both in person and over the phone.

Mary was a beautiful person with a kind soul and a heart of gold. She will be dearly missed but we take solace in the fact that her pain and suffering are no more.
