Mary A. Gallant

DOVER, NH – Mary A. Gallant, 96, of 195 Dover Point Road, Dover, NH, died on December 14 th, 2025.
She was born in Ennis, County Clare, Ireland, on August 6 th, 1929, a daughter of Thomas and Norah
Stanton.
Mary graduated from Seamont College, Kinvara, County Galway, Ireland in 1947. In 1951 she graduated
from Nursing School at East Surrey Hospital, Surrey, England, and became a Registered Nurse in England
in 1951. Mary worked as a Registered Nurse at Hendon District Hospital, London, England and at St.
Vincent Hospital, Memorial Hospital, and Fairlawn Hospital, all located in Worcester, MA.
Mary was predeceased by her husband of 64 years, Lionel F. Gallant, of Dover, NH, a brother, Michael
Stanton, and his wife, Kathleen, of Ireland, a sister, Kathleen Charron, wife of Paul Charron, of New York,
a sister Angela Murphy, and her husband James Murphy of South Dennis, MA. Mary is survived by a
sister, Pauline Heanue and her husband Geoffrey Heanue (deceased), two sons, Edward Gallant and his
wife, Martha, of Harwich, MA, Michael Gallant of Rochester, NH, and daughter, Patricia (Gallant)
Dekkert, of Florida. Mary also leaves behind eight grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.
There will be no visiting hours. A memorial service will be held at a later date. Burial will be at the NH
State Veterans Cemetery in Boscawen, NH.
