Mary Godwin Obituary
For most of her life, Mary resided in Marietta and worked professionally as a bookkeeper at Godwin Distributing. Her favorite pastimes included gardening, canning, sewing, crocheting, and hosting lively gatherings at a second home in Orange Beach, AL. Mary is lovingly remembered for welcoming family, and friends who became like family, into a home that was always filled with warmth and laughter. Affectionately known as "Mimi", she cherished her grandchildren, Taylor and Mary-Evelyn, who held a special place in her heart.
Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur "Art" Godwin, parents, Howard and Eugenia BelleIsle, and daughter, Jill Godwin Hunt, whose memory Mary treasured throughout her life.
Immediate family members include Mary's son Jeff Godwin and wife Debi, grandson Taylor Hunt and wife Madison, granddaughter Mary-Evelyn Kirkland and husband Cody, great-grandson Everett Hunt, son-in-law Steve Hunt and wife Joy.
Arrangements are entrusted to Whitfield Funeral Homes & Crematory, North Chapel Demorest, GA. A private family celebration of life is planned for a later date.
