Mary Ruth Collett Grounds was born June 25, 1934 to William Thomas Collett and Leon Myrie Collett (Spears) in Fort Worth, Texas.
She grew up in Ft. Worth, Texas and Roaring Springs, Texas where she lived her youth with her loving family and her grandparents on the family farm.
She was a Baptist, accepting Christ as her Savior as a young adult. She loved the Lord and her family. She was a loving wife and mother, a devoted grandmother, always eager to brag on her precious grandchildren.
She was the heart of her family eager to give love and hope to anyone in need. When someone gives love and takes the time to listen that person lives in your heart forever.
She was active in Volunteer Organizations, active in her church teaching VBS and she served on numerous committees in her church.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents; father William Thomas Collett, mother Leon Myrie Collett, sisters Lorene Steele, LaWanda Lamm, and Bonnie Reynolds, her brother William Thomas Collett, Jr., sister Lorene Myrie Steele, and her beloved late husband, Ray Dale Grounds.
She left behind to mourn her passing are her son Donald Scott Grounds and his wife Kathy and their sons Dillon Lee Grounds and David Ray Grounds. She also leaves behind her granddaughter Sarah Rebekah, her husband Jacob and their son Dimitri, and grandson, Donald Scott Grounds Jr.
