Katherine Ann "Kaytea" Grounds

Katherine "Kaytea" Ann Grounds, 37, of Muskogee, Oklahoma, was born on June 1, 1988, in Muskogee, to Larry Dean and the late Karen Lynn (Young) Grounds and passed away peacefully on October 22, 2025, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, surrounded by her loving family. Kaytea grew up in Fort Gibson, where she graduated from Fort Gibson Schools and made lifelong friends who remember her for her kindness, humor, and caring heart. She worked as a caregiver and medication aide at Countryside Senior Living, where she devoted herself to serving others with patience and compassion. Caring for people wasn't just her job, it was her calling. Kaytea was a member of Calvary Baptist Church and found comfort and strength in her faith. She loved crafts, crochet, and roses, and had a deep affection for all animals, especially penguins and her beloved dog, Mazie. Her gentle spirit and laughter brought joy to everyone she met. Kaytea's family and friends will remember her as a light in their lives-a kind and creative soul who loved deeply and gave selflessly. She is survived by her father, Larry Dean Gounds, and her brother, Aaron Dale Grounds, both of Fort Gibson, Oklahoma and numerous family members and friends. She was preceded in death by her mother, Karen Lynn Grounds, and her grandparents.
A viewing for Kaytea will be Tuesday, October 28, 2025, at Clifford D Garrett Family Funeral Home in Muskogee from 11AM - 5PM. Kaytea's celebration of life will be 10AM Wednesday, October 29, 2025, at Clifford D Garrett Family Funeral Home in Muskogee with Brother Justin Kinman officiating. Christopher Campbell, Acie O'Dell, Raymond Brown, and James Lott will be serving as casket bearers. Aaron Dale Grounds, Greg Grannon, and Kenneth Farguson will serve as honorary casket bearers.
Committal prayers and interment will follow at Greenhill Cemetery in Muskogee.
