Mary Ann Grubbs was born on July 13, 1942, to Joseph Franklin Martin and Edith Glynn (Fowler) Martin in Houston, Texas. On February 12, 1960, she was united in marriage to Robert Thurman Grubbs in Houston. Through this union they were blessed with two children, Robin Diane and Bruce Thurman. Throughout the years Mary Ann enjoyed camping, quilting, gardening and being around family. One of her greatest joys in life was meeting her great granddaughter, McKenna, and holding her.
Due to her nurturing and caring ways, Mary Ann found great joy and satisfaction working at a nursing home where she shared her love and compassion to all of the residents there.
Most of all, Mary Ann was a cherished sister, wife, mother and grandmother (aka Grandma, Grams) that touched the hearts and lives of many. She was truly a gentle and kind soul that will be terribly missed.
Mary Ann passed away on the morning of Sunday, July 6, 2025, in Dickinson, Texas, with family by her side.
She is proceeded in death by her parents, Joseph and Edith Martin; husband, Robert T. Grubbs; siblings, Patsy Eggert, Don Martin, Frank Martin and Shirley Lewis.
Mary Ann is survived by her daughter, Robin D. Bowers and husband Alan of League City; son, Bruce T. Grubbs and wife Mary of Mooresville, North Carolina; three grandchildren, Brianna Grubbs of Mooresville, North Carolina, Robert Grubbs of Manchester, New Hampshire, and Jennifer Rhodes and husband Andrew of College Station; great granddaughter, McKenna Grace Rhodes of College Station; sister, Linda Rodgers of Tomball; niece, Bridgette Downey of Tomball; and brother, Robert "Bob" Martin and wife Deb of Paige.
