Sheffield Township- Mary Ethel Hamilton Carr, 77, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Saturday, October 21, 2023 at her home.
She was born on December 8, 1945 in Jolo, West Virginia the daughter of Nash and Florence (Muncy) Riffe. Mary was a dedicated member of the Pentecostal Church of God.
Over the years, Mary worked for Iten Industries, as well as home health and worked as an administrator for area nursing homes.
She enjoyed crafting and loved to make wedding cakes. Mary was a wonderful grandmother, and she loved her grandchildren dearly.
Mary is survived by her children, Darlene (Edward Jackson, II) Carr and Denise Hamilton; step-children, Georgia Winslow, Martin Carr, Delta (Jason) Threadgill, Daniel (Michelle) Carr; grandchildren, Edward Jackson (Lisa) Carr, III, Chynna Carr, Zoeey (Daniel) Osterberg, Matthew (Danielle) Carr, Dylan (Terri) Carr, and Ashley (Chris) Hutzell; great-grandchildren, Jordan, Michael, Caleb, Brandon, and Isabella; and her siblings, Doris Reichert, Jay Riffe, Jeannie Tickle, Ronnie Riffe, and David Riffe.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husbands, Charles Hamilton and Edward Carr; daughter, Scharlette Dalton; step-children, John and George Carr; siblings, Birdie, Birchie, Beulah, Jacquetta, Donnie, Lonnie and Freda.
In keeping with her wishes no services will be observed.
