Mary Hamilton Obituary
WEAVERVILLE – Mary Ann Hamilton, age 84, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, October 28, 2025.
Miss Hamilton was born on September 5, 1941, in Buncombe County where she had lived all her life. She was a loving caretaker to her parents, the late Richard Herron and Ethel Walton Hamilton. Mary Ann formerly worked at Hadley’s of Weaverville and the S & W in downtown Asheville. She was an avid animal lover and her favorites were Blondie and Susie.
Also preceding her in death were her brothers, Charles and John Hugh Hamilton; nephew, Kurt Milton Hamilton; and great nephew, Zachary Hamilton.
Surviving is her niece, Regina Lara Hamilton; nephew, Wayne Gordon Hamilton and wife, Leona; sister-in-law, Mazie Hamilton; and great niece, Adrienne Hamilton.
Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m., Monday, November 3, 2025, in the Chapel of West Funeral Home, 17 Merrimon Ave., Weaverville, with Leona and Wayne Hamilton speaking. Burial will follow in Pleasant Grove Union Church Cemetery, 85 Pleasant Grove Rd., Weaverville. The family will receive friends from 1:15 to 2:15 p.m., on Monday at the funeral home.
