WEAVERVILLE – Randy William Penland, age 60, of Weaverville went to be with the Lord on Monday, November 24, 2025.
Randy was born on November 2, 1965, in Buncombe County where he lived all his life. He formerly worked at Dunham’s Music House and Time 4 Sports. Randy enjoyed building die cast model cars and working on automobiles. Most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren.
He was the son of the late Steve Penland and the late Marsha Crawford Rogers and was husband of the late Kimberly Penland. He was also preceded in death by grandparents, Elmer and Ruby Penland, and Rev. Lonnie and Bessie Crawford; and brothers, Donnie Rogers, and Jeffrey Rogers Harwood.
Surviving is his daughter, Jessica Meade (Cliff); sons, Joshua Penland (Brittany), and Christian Penland (Aizlan); sisters, Rhonda McLaughlin, and Regina Gosnell (Kenny); brothers, Darrell Penland (Tonya), Dewayne Penland, and Darrin Penland (Kerry); and grandchildren, Caitlin Penland, Maddie Meade, Tanner Meade, Lucas Penland and arriving in 2026, Sleighten Penland.
Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, December 5, 2025, in the Chapel of West Funeral Home, 17 Merrimon Ave., Weaverville with Rev. Lanny Cobb and Rev. Larry Rogers officiating. The family will greet friends following the service.
