Mary Liedel Heft

Mary Liedel Heft, born July 11, 1949, passed away Tuesday, December 23, 2025, at Corewell Health Dearborn Hospital. Mary was the beloved daughter of Melvin and Marylou (Robinson) Liedel. She attended St. Charles grade school in Newport and was a proud 1967 graduate of St. Mary Academy. Mary was known for her strong work ethic, most recently serving as a sous chef in Trenton.

Mary found joy in life's simple pleasures, she loved creating beautiful seasonal yard displays, tending to her meticulous flower gardens, and caring for the wildlife around her. Though not a world traveler, Mary cherished short getaways to Frankenmuth and Shipshewana, always on the lookout for unique treasures.

Family gatherings and the many friendships she built throughout her career meant the world to her.

She is survived by her daughter, Lisa Marie Heft; granddaughter, Ashley Beaubien; sister, Louanne Liedel Benvenuto; brother, Larry (Terry) Liedel and many nieces and nephews. Mary will also be missed by her two cherished grand-cats. She was preceded in death by her parents; her brother-in-law, Angelo Benvenuto; grandparents, Walter and Mary Liedel, Robert and Mary Robinson and other loved ones.

In accordance with Mary's wishes cremation has been held and a private service will take place at a later date. Bacarella Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

The family extends heartfelt thanks to all who have shared kind words, thoughts, and prayers during this time.
