Mary Kathryn Hernley

 Mary Kathryn Hernley, (The Flower Lady), 89, of Manheim went home to be with her Lord on Friday, February 21, 2025 at Hospice & Community Care, Mount Joy. Born in Lititz, she was the daughter of the late Elam and Susan Graybill Sensenich. She was the loving wife of Peter A. Hernley and they observed their 69th wedding anniversary in January. Mary Kathryn was a member of White Oak Church, Manheim and served alongside her husband as a Deacon and taught Sunday school for many years. She had a heart to be the hands and feet of Jesus. She walked this out by tirelessly serving others through sewing and gardening. For over 55 years, Mary Kathryn is most remembered for the flowers she grew, arranged and sold. 

 Surviving in addition to her husband are six children, Becky wife of Dennis Frey of Lebanon, Deb wife of Mark Bucker of Maine, Dave husband of Crystal Hernley of Bedford, Beth wife of Kevin Lynn of Indonesia, Mary wife of Kevin Longenecker of Bethel and Marci wife of Vern Baum of Manheim; 19 grandchildren, 38 great grandchildren and two siblings, Bob husband of Marian Sensenich of Lititz and Martha wife of Jesse Copenhaver of Lebanon.

 Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend Mary Kathryn’s Memorial Service at White Oak Church, 1211 North Penryn Road, Manheim on Sunday, March 9, 2025 at 4:00 PM. Friends may visit with the family at the church on Saturday afternoon from 2:00 PM – 5:00 PM and again at the church on Sunday immediately following the service. Interment will be private in the adjoining church cemetery. In lieu of flowers, those desiring may send contributions in Mary Kathryn’s memory to Green Meadow Farm, 1130 Creek Road, Leola, PA 17540 (greenmeadowfarm.org) or Maharashtra Fellowship for the Deaf (mfdindia.org).
