Mary Ellen "Midge" Holsworth, age 86, of Vestaburg passed away Thursday, November 14, 2024, at Schnepp Senior Care and Rehab Center in St. Louis. She was born December 27, 1937, in Clare, the daughter of Clarence and Stella (Bruckart) Davis. She attended Clare High School and was a graduate of St. Louis High School. On October 23, 1960, she married Dick Holsworth, a blessed union of 44 years, until his passing in 2005.
Midge was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She especially loved spending time with her grandchildren. She was an accomplished seamstress, making all types of clothing and wedding dresses. She enjoyed camping and traveling. Midge played Bass Guitar in her family band. She also enjoyed collecting sea turtles and bald eagles.
Midge is survived by her children, Vickie Porter, Keith (Cindy) Porter, Kathy Cooper, Jeff (Gayle) Holsworth, Susan Peruski, David (Elizabeth Patterson) Holsworth; 11 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and a brother, Floyd (Sharon) Davis.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Dick Holsworth; her parents; and siblings, Rolland, LaVerne, Chuck and Merv Davis; Rowena Smith, Carol Eagly.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, November 19, 2024, at 11 am at Lux and Schnepp Funeral Home, Riverdale. Interment will follow in Richland Township Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Monday, November 18, from 6 to 8 pm and Tuesday 10 am until the time of services at the funeral home. Those desiring may make memorial contributions to the American Diabetes Association.
