Mary Beth Hostrup

Mary Beth Hostrup, passed away peacefully In Fort Lauderdale, Florida, on March 19, 2023. Born on April 29, 1958 in Port Clinton, Ohio, daughter of Richard "Dick" Wade Hostrup and Lillian Marie Hostrup. Preceded in death by her parents and two brothers.

Mary Beth was the second daughter of five children raised in a loving family. She is survived by sisters, Bette Marie Hostrup and Sally Jean Hostrup. Two brothers, Robert Bruce Hostrup and Richard Wade "Rick" Hostrup, Jr. preceded her in death.

Mary Beth attended Miami Dade Community College & Broward Community College. Mary Beth's initial chosen field of work was within the healthcare system. She worked at Mercy Hospital in Miami, Florida, and in a private physician's office. In her mid 30's she pursued a goal to develop a professional writing career. She enjoyed writing poetry and tales for children. A lifelong interest in animal welfare drew her to work with charities that protect animals.

Mary Beth was married twice no children came of the unions. Mary Beth was a loving sister, and loved by all that knew her. We will miss her forever. A memorial service will be celebrated privately.

Mary Beth Hostrup and Richard W. Hostrup, Jr. will share a burial service on Wednesday, April 12, 2023 at noon at Lakeview Cemetery, Port Clinton, Ohio. Their service will be officiated by, Pastor Jarrod Schaaf of St. John Lutheran Church in Port Clinton, Ohio.
