Mary K. L. (Burton) Hunter, 68, of Anderson, passed away on January 22, 2026, at the Community Heart and Vascular Hospital in Indianapolis, IN. She was born on December 9, 1957, in Anderson, Indiana.

She is a retired waitress for Daleville 76 Truck Stop and has tended bar at various places in Anderson. She was a member of the Pocahontas Council #420, where she was the Past Pocahontas of Anderson Council and Past Great-Pocahontas for the state of Indiana. She was a life member of the VFW Auxiliary and AMVETS Auxiliary, Post 26, Pendleton. White River Folk and Bluegrass Club and the Red Men's Lodge.

She was an avid Bingo player and Pacers fan. She also enjoyed going to the Casino, bowling, attending the races at Anderson Speedway, and listening to bluegrass music.

Mary is survived by her loving spouse of 33 years, Don Hunter; children, Misty (Bobby) Henderson of Longview, TX, Michael VanHorn of Alexandria, IN, Edith Marie Hunter of Oregon; 11 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren with one on the way; brothers, Jerry C. Burton, III, Chuck E. (Tomya) Burton, Terry L. (Debbie) Burton of Anderson, and sister, Penny (Joe) Smith of Daleville; and several cousins. She was known as Aunt Rainey to her numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Jerry C. Burton II and Betty C. Burton-Kelly, and one great-grandchild.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 28, 2026, 4:00 pm - 8:00 pm at Loose Funeral Homes & Crematory, 200 W. 53rd Street, Anderson, IN.

Services will be on Thursday, January 29, 2026, at 1:00 pm at the funeral home with Jennifer Fullen officiating.

Burial will take place in the East Maplewood Cemetery.
