Mary Jo Hyden, a soul of boundless devotion and mirth, hath taken her leave from this mortal coil on the 29th of July, in the year of our Lord two thousand and twenty-four.
Born in Jackson County, Texas, on the twenty-seventh day of October in the year nineteen hundred thirty-five, Mary Jo's life was one of compassion and care, a journey marked by her benevolent spirit and gentle heart.
In
Corpus Christi, Texas, Mary Jo's earthly chapter did conclude with the grace and quietude that so defined her existence. Heart failure, an ailment most cruel, didst claim her, yet her legacy endures, steadfast as the stars that etch the night sky. She was truly loved by her beloved kin, Charles E Hyden and Carl Hyden, who were blessed to receive her loving nurture and wisdom.
Educated in the noble art of nursing, Mary Jo dedicated her life to the healing of others, serving as a Registered Nurse with a touch as tender as it was skilled. Her hands, which once brought solace and recovery to those in her care, also wrought beauty in the quilts she crafted with love. Each stitch, a testament to her patience and artistry, her quilts remain as vibrant and warm as the laughter that oft danced from her lips.
Mary Jo was a woman of merriment, her humor a light that dispelled the shadows of sorrow. In the words of the esteemed poet Emily Dickinson, "That it will never come again is what makes life so sweet." Mary Jo's laughter was the sugar in life's cup, making each moment with her a taste of the divine.
A loving soul, Mary Jo's kindness was the balm that soothed the weariest of spirits. She was a friend to all, her heart a haven of serenity and compassion. Her presence was a gentle whisper of reassurance, a funny quip, a knowing smile that could ease the heaviest of burdens.
We, the living, are left to walk the earth with her memory cradled in our hearts, our world a touch dimmer without her radiant soul to light our way. Yet, even as we mourn, we celebrate the joy she brought into our lives, the love she shared so freely, and the laughter that echoed in the halls of time.
Mary Jo Hyden, though your earthly journey hath ended, your spirit doth live on through the lives you touched, through the love you gave, and through the beauty you created. We bid thee adieu with heavy hearts, but with gratitude for the time we were granted in thy cherished company. Rest thee well in peace, dear Mary Jo, until we meet again beyond the stars.
