Mary Jane “M.J.” Meharg, a cherished mother, grandmother, and devoted soulmate to her husband, passed away at Atrium Medical Center in Macon on Monday, August 5, 2024. Born on September 20, 1952, in Franklin, Tennessee, M.J. was the daughter of the late Olin and Alma Elder.
In the early 1990s, M.J. relocated to Warner Robins, where she worked as an accountant at various local establishments including GNB Amusements, Chevy’s, Captain Jack’s Crab Shack, and Big Dog’s Barbeque.
Known for playing darts, M.J. proudly earned the title of a dart champion.
At the family’s request, all services held will be private.
Her memory will forever be treasured by her husband, John Burress; children, Leann Sullivan of Warner Robins and Donald Doggett, Jr. of Laurel, Mississippi; grandchildren, Neveah, and Urijah Doggett, and Nicole, Christopher, Joshua, and Nicholas Ross; great-grandchildren, Adelyn and Aiden Ross; and sister, Lee Bartlett (Ronnie) of Macon.
