Mary Ann Jenkins, 87, of Macon, Missouri, passed away on Thursday, April 4th, in Macon. Born on April 22nd, 1936, in College Mound, Missouri, she was the daughter of Wilbert "Peno" and Nina Teter. Mary Ann married the love of her life, Eldon Jenkins on April 30th, 1955, in Macon, Missouri, where they celebrated nearly 67 years together.
Mary Ann worked at Toastmaster in Macon until her oldest child, David, was born in 1963. Their daughter, Eldonna, was born in 1969.
In 1978, they ventured out to start their own business, Jenkins Heating & Cooling. Together with their two children, they built the business.
Mary Ann was a 4-H leader for over 40 years, a founding member of the Macon Saddle Club, and a member of both the Macon Young Farmers and the HAWHA Walking Horse Association. She traveled countless miles with Eldon and the kids, along with the grandkids, to show their horses and was always there in the stands, cheering them on.
Mary Ann was an avid shopper, always on the hunt for a great bargain. She was known for her broccoli and cheese casserole. She also made amazing spaghetti and meatballs, as well as lasagna, all from memory.
Mary Ann loved spending time with all of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, from weekend getaways to the Lake of the Ozarks, to camping at the Missouri State Fair, to trout fishing in Rock Bridge, Missouri, and even making some Sonic runs. She valued her time spent with family and friends. Mary Ann loved to travel with the love of her life, Eldon, along with Wayne and Janice Posey. Together, the four of them made wonderful memories.
She is survived by her two children, David and his wife Julee Jenkins, Eldonna and her husband Tom Wieberg. Grandchildren Chrystal Walk and her husband Chris, Amber Maloney and her husband Chris, Travis Wieberg and his wife Paige, Kayla Jenkins, Shelby Lawless & Shawn Hill. Great Grandchildren Xander, Creed, and Graylynn Walk, Teagan Neal, Lainey Wieberg, and Anthony Maloney, all of Macon; and one sister, Betty Buckallew of Brookfield, MO.
She was preceded in death by her parents, one sister Beverly Sparks and her husband Eldon in 2022.
Funeral services will be at the Hutton & McElwain Funeral Home in Macon with John Snider officiating.
The visitation will be from 4 to 7pm on Wednesday April 10th, 2024. The funeral services will be at 6pm on Thursday, April 11th at 6pm with a sunset burial at the Woodlawn Cemetery in Macon, Missouri to follow.
