Mary Alice Johnson

Mary Alice Sexton Hale Johnson 1932-2025 Watch webcast Mary Johnson, 92, of Grayson, KY, passed away Thursday, February 13, 2025, at Kings Daughters Medical Center in Ashland, KY. She was born April 23, 1932, in Carter County, a daughter of the late George Washington Sexton and Sally Calhoun Sexton. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by two sons, Edward Lolan Hall and Barry Keith Hale; a daughter, Vicki Lynn Justice; ten brothers and sisters, Charlie Sexton, Sherman Sexton, Shirley Sexton, George Sexton Jr., Hyton Sexton, Melissa Hutchison, Linnie Felty, Anna Kitchen, Andy Sexton, and Bill Sexton; two husbands, Ernest Lolan Hale and Rufus Johnson.
She was of the Christian faith and had attended the Dixie Park Freewill Baptist Church and the Church of Christ. She was a past Green Thumb employee and volunteered at the Grayson Senior Citizens Center.
She is survived by two sons, Robbie Dean Hale and Frank (Chris) Hale, both of Grayson, KY; a daughter, Gina Hale (David) Utley of Grayson, KY; twelve grandchildren, and several great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be on Monday, February 17, 2025, at 1:00 P.M. at the Sparks Funeral Home, Tim Hall, minister. Burial will follow in the East Carter County Memory Gardens. Visitation will be Monday, February 17, 2025, from 11:00 A.M. until service time at the funeral home.
