John Clere Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Sparks Funeral Home - Grayson on Mar. 10, 2026.
John Edward "Johnny" Clere, 61, went to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on March 3, 2026, after a brief illness. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, brother, grandfather, and friend. He was born April 24, 1964, in Ashland, KY, a son of the late P.R. Clere and Sandra Sturgill Evans. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a step-father, Charles Evans and a son, Jimmie Lee Church.

John proudly drove an 18-wheeler for 32 years. He also had an entrepreneurial spirit and ran many business ventures, including a pressure-washing business and an IT business, and was developing a new natural health product he called "1621 Tincture," which he was very passionate about. John was a Kentucky Colonel, a licensed ham radio operator (N8TUY) for most of his life, and he volunteered in Florida for several years working their communication systems during hurricanes and disasters. He was also a proud American patriot and lover of truth and justice.

John is survived by his wife of 37 years, Donna Clere; his daughter, Frankie Williams; his granddaughter, Skylar Williams; his son-in-law, Scottie Williams, who is Frankie's husband; his brothers, Paul Clere, Steve Clere (and wife Sherry), and Jim Evans (and wife Arlene); his niece Charla Campbell (and husband Darron), whom he considered more like a daughter; his niece, Alicia Clere; his nephews, Steven Clere (and wife Tara), Travis Clere, and Colton Clere; his cousin, Pam Owens, who was a special help to him in his time of need; and many other cherished family and friends.

Graveside services will be Saturday, March 14, 2026, at 1:00 P.M. at the Cribbs Hill Cemetery, US 60 East of Grayson.
