Barbara Ann "Barbie" Counts, 54, of Grayson, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday, March 6, 2026.
Born on August 11, 1971, in
Ashland, Kentucky, Barbie was the beloved daughter of Venus Angela Baker Counts of Grayson and the late Hoard Counts, Jr. She was also preceded in death by her cherished sisters, Kimberly Leigh Stacey and Crystal Wilburn, as well as her maternal grandparents, JT and Bessie Baker and Georgia and Hoard Counts.
A proud 1989 graduate of East Carter High School, Barbie was known for her strong spirit, determined heart, and capable hands. She worked many jobs throughout her life and earned a reputation as a true "handywoman" who could fix just about anything she set her mind to. Her mother affectionately nicknamed her "Little Man," a testament to Barbie's resourcefulness, grit, and willingness to tackle any task. Whether repairing, building, or lending a helping hand, Barbie took pride in her work and in caring for those she loved.
Barbie had a deep love for horses and found joy in the freedom of Harley Davidson motorcycles and the energy of playing her music loud. She lived life in her own bold and vibrant way, leaving lasting impressions on everyone who knew her.
Above all, Barbie treasured her family. In addition to her loving mother, she is survived by her daughter, Alexis (Jacob) Counts Huffman of Clearfield, Kentucky, who was the light of her life. She was a proud and devoted grandmother to Adriana Huffman and Adalynn Huffman, who brought her immeasurable happiness and her two Fur babies Dusty and Patchs. She is also survived by her sister, Katherine Bess (John) Jones of Olive Hill; her brother, Robert Counts of Olive Hill; her nieces and nephews, Josh Stacey, Jeremy Stacey, Caleb Wilburn, Danny Wilburn, Matthew Hensley, Cory Jones, Johnny Jones, Leighann Jones, Angela Jones, and Jenna Counts; her brother-in-law, Jadyn Vandale; cousins, Brandi LeMaster and Toni Jobe; her dear friends, Cheryl Mullins and Terri Ward; and a host of extended family members and friends who will deeply mourn her passing and forever cherish her memory.
A celebration of Barbie's life will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday, March 17, 2026, at Malone Funeral Home in Grayson, with Bro. Ben James officiating. Visitation will be from 2:00 p.m. until the service hour on Tuesday.
Though her time here was far too short, Barbie's strength, love, and vibrant spirit will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her. Condolences may be shared with the family at www.malonefuneralhome.com.Get Outlook for iOS
