Mary Johnson Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Farley-Sullivan Funeral Home - Glastonbury on Jan. 8, 2026.
Mary (Pasquarelli) Johnson, 99, of Glastonbury, wife of the late George F. Johnson, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Thursday, January 8, 2026. Mary was born in Hartford on September 13, 1926, to the late Anthony and Igina (Panfili) Pasquarelli. She lived in Glastonbury for most of her life. After retiring from Travelers Insurance after 29 years of service, she worked in the Glastonbury School Food Service so she could see some of her grandchildren as they made their way through school.
Mary lived a long life filled with family, laughter and love. Mary loved to travel, she enjoyed her family reunion in Mexico and her trip to Italy with family. She never passed on a trip to the casino or the track in New York with family. She enjoyed traveling for many years with her close friends the "Golden Girls", Lois Grib, Ann Conti, and Phil Sivo She loved relaxing on Cornfield Point Beach in Old Saybrook with her family and dear friends Toni and Pat. As she aged, she kept in touch with all her friends on the phone for hours.
Mary will be lovingly remembered as a mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend.
Mary is survived by her children Carol Gonthier and her husband Laurie of Morris, Judith Levi of Old Saybrook and Paul Johnson and his wife Donna of Glastonbury. Mary was predeceased by her oldest son John P. Johnson.
Mary was a proud grandmother to Jon, Jared Stephanie (husband Matt), Shane, Jessica, and Todd (wife Sarah), and step-grandmother too, Ashley, Rebecca (husband Kevin) Alyssa, and Casey. She also leaves behind three great-granddaughters, Ella, Cameryn and Madelyn, along with eight step great-grandchildren: Aubrey, Mason, CJ, Lyla, Callum, Kane, Remi, and Marlee.
We are truly thankful to all who cared for her at Glastonbury Health Care Center not only with skill, but with true love.
A Mass of Christian Burial celebrating Mary's life will be held on Saturday, January 17, 2026, at 11:00 am in Saint Paul Church of S.S. Isidore and Maria Parish, 2577 Main Street Glastonbury. I was so sorry to hear of your loss. Mary was such a special person to our whole family. Being my mom's best friend (Adelle Saidak) we became so close to her. I'm sure we're going to miss our phone conversations and lunches but grateful for the many years of friendship. They both passed at 99 wonderful years
