Mary Elizabeth Joint age 65, of Erie, sadly passed away in her sleep on Wednesday August 27, 2025.
She was born on Christmas Day in 1959, a daughter to Anne Gehringer and Jack Joint.
Mary went to St. Ann’s Grade School and graduated from Villa Maria Academy in 1977. She worked for many years at GECAC Head Start in Erie, PA. She attended Edinboro University in pursuit of becoming a head start teacher. She also waitressed at many local restaurants and pubs in Erie. Mary was a character to say the least. She definitely had the “gift of gab” and loved to tell a story. She was most passionate about cooking a big meal to share with others and her baking skills could be rivaled to our Grandma Joints. She also was very active in politics. She worked the polls for most elections. A staunch Democrat that definitely understood the ins and outs of politics. She was Democratic Committee Woman for many years.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her grandparents, Mary and Edward Gehringer, and Anna and John Joint; a sister, Patricia Joint and a brother John Joint.
She is survived by her siblings, Kathleen Joint and her husband James Zeitler; Michael Joint and Anne Joint. She also leaves behind her aunt, Sr. Ann Marie Joint, SSJ; nieces, Jennifer and Sarah Joint and a great niece, Angelina Corder.
