Mary Kay Lutz

Mary Kay Lutz, 60, of Mount Prospect, Illinois, passed away peacefully on May 30, 2025, after a six year battle with cancer. She was surrounded by her family.
Mary Kay was born on October 13, 1964, in Evergreen Park, Illinois to Martin and Margaret (Kissane) Molloy. She graduated from Fenton High School and earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Elmhurst College.
Mary Kay paused her nursing career for her dream job of raising her three daughters. No children had a better mother. She returned to work as a school nurse, serving for the last 10 years at Glenbrook North High School.
Mary Kay is survived by her husband of 32 years, Robert, the luckiest man in the world; her children, Kathryn, Jennifer, and Claire; her sister, Melinda Gall; her brother, Michael (Moira) Molloy; her parents; her aunt, Geri (Kissane) McMullen; and many cousins, nieces, nephews, and dear friends and colleagues.
Mary Kay was preceded in death by her brother, Martin Molloy, her sister-in-law, Mary (Evans) Molloy, and her brother-in-law, John Gall.
Visitation will be Wednesday, June 4, 2025 from 4 PM until 8 PM, at Matz Mt. Prospect Funeral Chapel, 410 East Rand Road, Mount Prospect, IL 60056. Northeastern Illinois Nurse Honor Guard service will be at 6 PM. Funeral will be Thursday, June 5, 10:30 AM, at St. Emily Parish, 1400 East Central Road, Mount Prospect. Interment will be private.
In lieu of flowers, Mary Kay's family requests donations to the American Cancer Society.
