Mary Leone MacGillivray, known affectionately as Leone to her friends and family, passed away peacefully on September 30, 2025, in Quincy. Born on January 4, 1948, in Glace Bay, Nova Scotia, Canada, she brought light and warmth to the lives of everyone around her.

Leone's 77 years were marked by dedication to her family and her career. She upheld the family legacy with pride, being the cherished daughter of the late Charles F. and Margaret C. (Campbell) MacGillivray. Her life was enriched with the love and camaraderie of her siblings Joanne Donovan of NJ, Rosemary Cronin of Marblehead, Michael MacGillivray of FL, and the late Dennis MacGillivray, Joseph MacGillivray, Helen DeWolfe, Leonard MacGillivray, John MacGillivray, Judith Belanger, Jane Louise MacGillivray, and James MacGillivray.

Professionally, Leone devoted many years as the office manager for a freight forwarding company. Her contributions to the field were immeasurable, and she was known for her leadership and unwavering commitment to excellence.

Loving and kind are the words that best encapsulate Leone's essence. Her spirit, characterized by generosity and a tender heart, left an indelible impact on those she encountered. She lived a life full of grace and altruism, leaving behind a legacy that will forever be treasured and remembered.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend a visitation period on Monday, October 6th, from 8:30 – 10:00 AM in the Cartwright-Venuti Funeral Home, 845 Washington Street, Braintree. A Funeral Mass will follow at 10:30 AM in Saint Francis of Assisi Church, 856 Washington Street, Braintree. A private burial will take place in Saint Mary Cemetery, Randolph, at a later date.
