Mary Josephine Mann

Mary Josephine Mann, 101, of Marion, Iowa, passed away on Friday, December 12, 2025, at Hallmark Care Center in Mount Vernon, Iowa. Funeral services will begin at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, December 17, 2025, at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service in Marion. Family will greet friends one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.

Mary was born on January 18, 1924, in Cedar Rapids, the daughter of George J and Opal May (Harper) Svoboda. She was a graduate of Wilson High School in Cedar Rapids and worked in administration at Linn Rural Electric Cooperative until her retirement in 1986. On March 10, 1946, Mary was united in marriage to Robert Gene Mann at the First Presbyterian Church in Marion. Mary was a member of First Presbyterian Church, the American Legion Auxiliary, and Marion Business Girls. She enjoyed playing games, traveling and spending time with her family. Mary will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Mary is survived and lovingly remembered by her two children, Linda Davison and John (Louann) Mann, both of Marion; four grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Robert “Bob” Mann; grandson, C.J. Mann; brother, George “Bud” Svoboda; and son-in-law, George Davison.
